Pick a tool, then enter how much you use or when you run out on your current plan. It shows which plans cover you and the cheapest one, using only published numbers: OpenAI's per-model Codex estimates, Meta's Muse Code prompt ranges and each vendor's stated plan multiples.
How it works
- Codex and Muse Code publish real ranges per 5 hours. Enter your pace and the calculator checks it against the low and high end. "Fits" means even the low end covers you; "Maybe" means you are inside the range, so it depends on task size.
- Claude, Gemini, Cursor, Grok, Copilot and Meta Muse only publish multiples (for example Max 5x is 5x Pro). Tell it when you run out on your current plan, and it works out how many times that allowance you need, then the cheapest plan with a big enough multiple.
- Time to limit assumes a steady pace. Real usage varies with model, context, tools and speed mode.
- Weekly caps sit on top of most 5-hour limits, and vendors rarely publish them, so a plan can fit your 5-hour pace and still run out late in the week.
Left out of the math for lack of published numbers: ChatGPT, Windsurf, Perplexity and Mistral, plus free, team and enterprise tiers whose limits are only described in words. They still appear with their official wording.

How many Codex messages do I get on ChatGPT Plus?
OpenAI estimates 15 to 160 local GPT-6.1 Sol messages per 5 hours on Plus and Standard Business (5 to 45 on GPT-6 Astra, 350 to 3,000 on GPT-6 Luna). Pro plans currently have no 5-hour limit.
Is Claude Max 5x really five times Pro?
Anthropic says Max 5x gives 5x Pro usage and Max 20x gives 20x Pro usage per 5-hour session. It publishes no weekly multiple, and weekly limits apply on top.
Which Gemini plan has the most usage?
Google AI Ultra 20x: Google says it has 20x higher usage limits than AI Pro, which itself has 4x the Free limits.
How do Cursor Premium, Super and Ultra compare?
Cursor states them as 4x, 15x and 50x the Plus usage pool, which resets weekly.
Why does the calculator show ranges, not exact numbers?
Vendors publish ranges or multiples, not fixed caps, because usage depends on task size, model and context. We show what they publish and label anything derived as an estimate.
Why is ChatGPT chat not calculated?
OpenAI publishes no message numbers for ChatGPT chat plans, only wording such as expanded messages. Codex, which shares usage with ChatGPT Work, does have published estimates.
