Google Antigravity limits: Free, AI Pro and Ultra explained

Updated 2026-10-22. From Google's Antigravity docs and Google AI plans page.

Quick answer

Google doesn't publish hard numbers for Antigravity limits, only how each plan's quota refreshes. Free and Google AI Plus get a quota that refreshes weekly. Google AI Pro ($19.99) refreshes every 5 hours until you hit a weekly limit, and Ultra ($99.99 or $199.99) gets the highest 5-hour quota and the highest weekly limit. Quota tracks how much work the agent does, not how many prompts you send. When you run out, you wait for the refresh, or on Pro and Ultra you can spend AI credits.

Google AI Ultra 5x$99.99The highest quota, refreshed every five hours, and the highest weekly limits (Google's subscriptions page says "higher" for 5x)5 hours, plus weekly capYes
Google AI Ultra 20x$199.99Same as Ultra 5x, with "highest" rate limits per Google's subscriptions page5 hours, plus weekly capYes

What we know and what we don't

QuestionAnswer
How each plan refreshesFree and Plus weekly; Pro and Ultra every 5 hours until a weekly limit
Exact prompts or tokens per windowGoogle hasn't published them for any plan
Is Ultra 5x five times Pro in Antigravity?Google hasn't said. The 5x and 20x multipliers are stated for the Gemini app; Antigravity is only called "higher" and "highest"
What uses up quotaThe amount of work the agent does, so a hard task costs more than a quick edit
Separate metersGemini models and Claude/GPT models each have their own 5-hour and weekly meter
After the quota runs outWait for the refresh, or spend AI credits on Pro and Ultra
Can limits change?Yes. Google says they're "subject to modification" to manage capacity

How Antigravity counts your usage

Antigravity doesn't count messages. Google's plans page says the rate limits "correlate with the amount of work done by the agent, which can differ from prompt to prompt." A quick rename eats almost nothing. A long agent run that reads half your repo, runs tests and retries can drain a 5-hour window on its own.

There are two buckets. The usage panel on Google's models page shows one meter for Gemini models and another for Claude and GPT models, each with a weekly limit and a five-hour limit. Going by those separate meters, using up your Gemini quota shouldn't block Claude Sonnet 5.5, and the reverse.

Thinking level matters too. Antigravity lets you pick Low, Medium or High, and since quota follows the agent's work, High will usually burn through it faster than Low. Gemini 3.8 Flash is the one model every plan can fall back on.

Which models each plan gets in Antigravity

ModelFree and PlusAI ProAI Ultra
Gemini 4 ArgonNoYes (paid, not trial)Yes
Gemini 3.8 FlashYesYesYes
Claude Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5 (thinking)NoYes (paid, not trial)Yes
Claude Opus 4.6 and Sonnet 4.6 (thinking)Yes, until Nov 2Yes, until Nov 2No
GPT-OSS 120BYes, until Nov 2Yes, until Nov 2Yes, until Nov 2

Google says Claude Sonnet 4.6, Claude Opus 4.6 and GPT-OSS 120B "will be removed on November 2, 2026." After that, Free and Plus are left with Gemini 3.8 Flash, per the current models table.

Two catches. Argon and the Claude 5.5 models aren't in Pro free trials, so a trial user has to switch to a paid plan first. And Argon isn't in the Antigravity IDE: it works in the Antigravity App, the CLI and the IDE extensions. Google added Argon for Pro and Ultra on Oct 13, 2026, per its Antigravity announcement. Our Gemini 4 Argon usage limits guide covers Argon in the Gemini app.

How to check your Antigravity quota

  • In the app: open Settings. Google says baseline quota usage across models is shown there, with the weekly and five-hour meters.
  • In the CLI: type /usage (or /quota). It refreshes your quota from Google's backend and lists the remaining requests or tokens per model, per the CLI docs.
  • AI credits: the right side of the CLI status line shows your credit balance, and /credits opens the credits panel.

Both read straight from your Google account, so they're the numbers to trust when you plan a long agent run.

What happens when you hit the Antigravity limit

On Free and Plus you wait for the weekly refresh. On Pro and Ultra you wait for the next 5-hour window, unless you've hit the weekly cap, in which case you wait for the week to roll over.

Pro and Ultra users can keep going on AI credits. Google's plans page says credits are "consumed at standard Gemini Enterprise consumption pricing," and a setting called AI Credit Overages decides what happens: "Never" waits for the refresh, "Always" switches to credits and goes back to your plan quota once it refreshes. In the CLI the same switch is useG1Credits in settings.json.

Don't try to get around the cap. There's no bring-your-own-key option for more quota, and Google's Antigravity FAQ says using third-party tools with your Antigravity login "can result in suspension or termination of your account." Automated account switching isn't supported on consumer plans either.

Switching models can buy you time. If your Gemini quota is spent on Pro or Ultra, Claude Sonnet 5.5 runs on the other meter. For the Gemini app side, see Gemini usage limit reached.

Has Google reset Antigravity quotas early?

Yes, at least once. On Oct 16, 2026 at 6:18 PM ET, Varun Mohan of Google DeepMind (@_mohansolo) said Google was resetting Argon and Gemini model quotas for everyone on Antigravity. These one-off resets come from staff posts on X, not from a schedule.

We log every staff reset with a link to the post on the AI usage resets page, next to the Codex and Claude ones.

Antigravity on AI Pro vs Ultra: which to pick

Start with AI Pro at $19.99. It's the cheapest way to get Argon and the Claude 5.5 models in Antigravity with a 5-hour refresh, and you can add credits for the odd heavy day.

Move to Ultra 5x ($99.99) only if you hit the Pro weekly cap most weeks. You're paying about five times as much without a published Antigravity multiplier, so judge it by your own usage meter, not the "5x" in the name. Ultra 20x ($199.99) is for people who run agents all day.

For coding with numbers you can plan around, Codex on ChatGPT Plus publishes per-model ranges per 5 hours. Compare the options in the AI usage calculator, AI coding plans under $20 and Claude Pro vs Google AI Pro.

FAQ

What are the Antigravity limits on the free plan?

Free users get what Google calls "a meaningful quota, refreshed weekly" and a weekly rate limit. Google doesn't publish a number, and Google AI Plus gets the same treatment in Antigravity.

How often do Antigravity limits reset?

Every 5 hours on Google AI Pro and Ultra, until you reach the weekly limit. On Free and Plus the quota refreshes weekly.

What are the Antigravity limits for Google AI Pro users?

A "high, generous quota" that refreshes every five hours until a weekly limit, per Google. Pro costs $19.99 and gets Gemini 4 Argon and the Claude 5.5 models on paid plans, not trials.

Is Antigravity on Ultra 5x five times the Pro limit?

Google hasn't said. The 5x and 20x figures are stated for the Gemini app, while Antigravity's docs only call Ultra's limits "the highest".

How do I check my Antigravity quota?

Open Settings in the Antigravity app, or type /usage (alias /quota) in the Antigravity CLI. Both show your remaining 5-hour and weekly quota per model.

What can I do when my Antigravity quota runs out?

Wait for the refresh, switch to a model on the other meter, or turn on AI credits if you're on Pro or Ultra. Credits are billed at Gemini Enterprise consumption pricing.
